How much will it cost for your trip?
Kyrgyzstan is not an EU member. EU RLAH does not apply. Most EU carriers charge daily roaming fees. A travel eSIM is almost always cheaper. Kyrgyzstan is a predominantly cash economy outside Bishkek — withdraw Soms before leaving the capital. Cards are rarely accepted at yurt camps, guesthouses and in most villages.
Bishkek and Osh have good 4G. Karakol and Cholpon-Ata (Lake Issyk-Kul) have decent signal. Song-Kol Lake plateau (3,016m), Ala Archa National Park gorge, the Chychkan Gorge and most mountain yurt camps have no mobile coverage. Download offline maps (Maps.me and Organic Maps are excellent for Kyrgyzstan hiking and 4WD routes). Share your GPS position before entering remote areas.

Kyrgyzstan has three mobile operators: Beeline KG (dominant in Bishkek and major cities), MegaCom (stronger rural and mountain footprint — Issyk-Kul, Osh and Karakol valley approaches) and O!/NurTelecom (urban). For Bishkek and the Issyk-Kul north shore, all operators provide 4G. Differences become significant on mountain trekking routes and Pamir approaches, where MegaCom has a wider rural footprint. 5G is not commercially available.
Among the providers on this page, Saily, Yesim, aloSIM and Roamless do not disclose their Kyrgyz carrier. Beeline is reliable for Bishkek, Osh and main routes; for deep mountain trekking, MegaCom and O! have the widest rural reach, so a local SIM is worth considering if you head far off-grid.
