How much will it cost for your trip?
Antananarivo has good 4G on Telma and Airtel. Along RN7 (the main southern highway) to Fianarantsoa and Ranomafana, there's basic coverage in towns. Ranomafana, Isalo and Zombitse national parks have no reliable signal inside. The Avenue of the Baobabs near Morondava has limited signal. Nosy Be island resort area has basic 4G.
The 1,000 km RN7 road from Tana to Tulear (Fort Dauphin) can take days. Download offline maps and park information in Antananarivo before departure. National parks require a guide — download park maps and lemur identification guides in the nearest town. The Avenue of the Baobabs sunset site has very limited signal.

Network coverage in Madagascar
Three major operators cover Madagascar: Yas Madagascar (formerly Telma), Orange Madagascar, and Airtel Madagascar. For the RN7 corridor — Antananarivo, Antsirabe, Fianarantsoa, Toliara — and the main tourist hubs (Andasibe, Nosy Be, Toamasina), all three offer 4G in towns and along main road segments. Yas has 5G in Antananarivo and Toamasina, but 5G coverage remains limited across the country.
Yas has the widest overall coverage and the strongest signal in main corridors. Orange is a solid second choice. Airtel covers the major urban centres but drops off more quickly outside towns. Remote regions — Masoala Peninsula, the deep south beyond Toliara, the west coast outside Mahajanga — have patchy or no signal on all three networks.
